It was made to offer a story AND lots of varying MMO content. So many of it's continued sub numbers are due to the MMO content. If the story wasn't meant to be "rushed through" then why is content locked behind it? Wouldn't it make more sense to allow players to interact with and do the story at their own pace? Again, FFXIV is an MMO. Yet in order to interact with much of that content unlike other games they are FORCED to do 100's of usually filler quests. The base file was collected using a Trim.
